Coast weather is hard on outdoor timber. Rain, salt air and shade turn a deck soft from underneath, and by the time a board gives way the structure below has usually been going for years.
Franz Krutsky rebuilds decks properly — down to the joists and posts where it is needed, rather than screwing new boards over old rot. The same joinery he uses indoors, applied to work that has to survive a winter outside.

It is almost always worse than it looks
A soft board is a symptom. What matters is whether the joists, posts and ledger behind it are still sound — and that cannot be judged from a photograph alone. Franz will tell you honestly whether you need a repair, a partial rebuild, or the whole thing taken down, and he would rather tell you that before you have paid for the wrong one.
